What is the difference between laptops/netbooks and notebooks?

I am about to buy a new laptop to go to uni with, and I have no clue what the difference is between a normal laptop, a net book and a notebook. They are all types of laptops so whats the best to get?

Laptops are just the older name for what are now called Notebooks.

Netbooks are the tiny organizer-sized computers. They are a pain to use especially when you want to type. Plus some of software is not compatible with their O.S.

Laptops and notebooks are the same, only a different way to call them.
Netbook is a mini-laptop, smaller than a normal laptop, and normally is used only to acess the internet. It’s like a computer to acess the internet, because many netbooks have only a 4/8Gb SSD memory. I’d truly recommend you a notebook, because of its qualities, but if you are looking only for a way to be connected elsewhere, buy a netbook.

notebook – small laptop usefull for general useage
netbook – laptop ideal for web usage
laptop – can be any size and any spec on laptop you can make it better with upgrade Componants.
im pretty sure im correct.

i think laptop would be better but i prefer a desktop pc due to the fact laptops are expesive to repair.

Laptop is a general name for “Every one called micro computers”.

mini laptop computers.^^ as said up there, I want to turn off my laptops built in speakers but leave my headphone jack operative. My laptop is normally at my desk and I have some rather decent external speakers already. I have windows 7 home premium and my laptop is an eMachines E627 5710. please help. i am planning on watching a movie tonight.

1. right bottom corner (in system tray) location speaker icon
2. right click on speaker icon
3. left click on playback devices
(if you have multiple speakers)
4. left click on speakers you want to disable
5. right click on same
6. left click on disbale

if you plug in your heaphones you hear the built in speakers

Just plug in the speakers and it will work…
