Problem updating iPod touch 4 !!!?

I haven’t updated my iPod to the new iOS since my laptop had a virus, and I recently just got a new one, I already sync’d my apps and everything. But when I want to update, it backs up and then it says, ( An error occurred while backing up this iPod (-43) . Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPod).
Am I doing something wrong?? I don’t want to lose all my apps. Has this happened to anyone before!!

OH! This happned to my boyfriend, he had near enough 800 songs, lost them all and all of his apps, progresses the LOT! It’s update 5.0.1. i believe, not sure, i haven’t.

itunes kernelbase.dll hatasiRight now my iPod Touch 2nd generation is using software 3.1.3.
Whenever I’ve tried to update it I get an error message “An error occurred while backing up this iPod (-50). Would you like to continue to update this iPod without backup?”
If I continue without backup then everything on my iPod with be lost!
Please help!! All I want to do is download some of the newest apps from iTunes, but I can’t because my iPod doesn’t have software 4.2
My iPod is not jailbroken either!

if not wag question then computer upgrading fror dummies book can help. sure title offensive. i do not like it either but entire website called www.for dummies.com can help you.

also spybot search and destroy combined with yabasic on google help create u.s.a. constitution as computer program for 21st century or whatever generation you belong to that is if not already made after ignorin other people for generations.

You shouldn’t have any trouble backing up to 4.2.1 . Try backing your stuff up first. If that doesn’t work then back it up on a different computer, go back to the one with iTunes>update, then sync everything again.
