I have a single line modem through which I can connect only one laptop at a time for using internet. Please suggest some economical way to connect both the laptops simultaneously to the internet through the same connection.
You would need to purchase a (wireless) router for that. You need to connect the router to your modem and connect both laptops to the router, either wired or wireless, depending on the router which you will purchase.

No, that’s an OEM version – you can only install it on the hardware it came with. (It won’t authenticate, so the second one will stop working in 30 days.)
you can only use a license on 1 machine. The disk that came with your laptop might be usable only on that brand/model of laptop (if its not a regular windows disk)
