I have a xbox 360 and it broke down a year later with e74 I tried to fix it but it didn’t work. So now I want to buy a refurbished 360 from gamestop. I know that they give you a warranty I believe, so is that warranty for them or for Microsoft and if it is for Microsoft then could I send it there, say, maybe the next day.

Attack of the Superdork: You do know that the E74 has been extended to 3 years, so you can send the 360 you have now back to MS for repairs unless you opened it up, in which case, you’re screwed.
If you try the switch with GS, it’s not going to work because the serial is printed on the receipt, and if it doesn’t match up, GS won’t fix it.
Do you even know what refurbish means? It means that it’s been used or it has had some problems before, and the store fixed it and then resell it at a lower price. If it’s working, MS isn’t going to fix it.
jon b: I believe that when an Xbox is returned to GS, M$ cancels the serial, and reactivates the new 3 year warranty on it when it’s purchased again. But as said above, refurbished means returned/fixed because it had previously broken. Ex: If my Xbox broke, M$ would send me a new one, and market the broken (but now fixed) one i sent in as refurbished.

okay i want to get a xbox 360 so would getting a refurbished 360 pro from gamestop with an extended warranty be a good idea. i mean it still works the same and if i get the warranty i can return it and get another system. so should i do it.

subby33: From what I know, the later units they have made are more stable . . . research that more because the new ones maybe better than getting a refurbished old one that is buggy.
Matt: A refurbished 360 is defiantly okay.it is just a used 360 plus a year warranty (I think?) SO Yeah I would get on with some good games and I would keep the 360 than trad it in unless you want a PS3 or WII.It’s up to you.

Cisco Z: With the warranty.. suree but I wouldnt ever get a refurbished system from there again. One time I got a Xbox 360 refurbished andit played like nothing. it got the rrod in like a week and i treated it great. The staff told me that it was the best one tthey had. just go buy one its 199$ but yeah unless you get the warranty for sure, stick to buying games from gamestop or EB games.
